The Cubes cycle can be approached in many ways; none will be better or worse — only different. I find simple ideas the most intriguing, and knowing the painter personally, I believe this cycle was drawn from her dreams — the real dreams that sneak upon us at night and transform our material reality into unrepeatable wonders.

And really, what else would one be a painter for, if not to paint all of that — to assemble from everything a unique mosaic, to arrange the cubes so that even I now understand how the entire world can fit inside a single cube, without needing to be reduced, limited, or diminished. The diversity and exuberance framed within the cube have no limits — just as there are no limits to the beauty of a person, a woman, a tree, the earth — to life itself.

This tree is part of the Cubes cycle, and it is fascinating in its pure simplicity. To me, that tree is woven from the sea — to someone else, it might be made of heavenly clouds. Everyone sees what they want.
